Plaids Cocooning's creations are largely inspired by our family's experience in northern French textiles and interior design. We're passionate about yarns, bangs, ties and wefts.
Inspired by travels and discoveries, we bring their sensations back to our textiles, so that you can wrap yourself in our memories. Our aim is to create a link between you and us through the seasons.
The costs of such production are still impossible to assume in France, so in all transparency, we assume our choice to produce in part in India, where we have strong ties, and in Asia, where our Chinese partners are located.
Convinced that we can help change the world of tomorrow, we invest in manufacturing infrastructures that protect women in India and help them to become self-sufficient.
Whether it's our employees, our customers or our suppliers, human relations are at the heart of all our decisions. For our fleece collection, we've been working with the same suppliers for 10 years, a company based in Northern China, whose production standards are very close to European standards, and we still monitor production very closely.
In our desire to value the work of others, we are committed to working with local artisans: for our wool collection, we work with breeders of Barégeoise sheep in the Pyrenees, or with Edith, our seamstress, who enables us to offer made-to-measure plaid sizes.
For our collection of recycled polyester we focus on manufacturing in partnership with weavers who must meet the following criteria Global Recycled Standard. This standard imposes strict norms on all technical production practices that respect the environment and people. Our production is located in China, à Changzhou where we've been working with the same supplier for 10 years.

Because we know that the textile industry ranks at the top of the list of the most polluting industries, we've chosen to offer products designed to last. Plaids Cocooning products are resistant and easy to care for, and our most loyal customers have confirmed this by keeping their plaid for several years in a row.
It's with this same logic in mind that, as you've probably noticed, we've always chosen to offer you a fair price all year round, and not to take part in promotional operations. Sales, Black Friday...all these operations that drive you to overconsumption have no place at Plaids Cocooning. Everyone will find the plaid of their dreams, at any time of year.
RESPONSIBLE TRANSPORT
Changes in the modern world and our concerns about the future are driving us to make ever more responsible and reasoned choices. For the time being, it may be difficult for us to repatriate our fleece plaid production to Europe, but we are nevertheless taking action by shipping our goods in a more responsible way, in particular via gas-fired shipping. All our goods are transported to the port of Lille, where they are then checked, before ending up on your sofa.
It may seem obvious, but at our level, we try to limit our environmental impact through waste management: all our packaging is eco-responsible, as are all the media we use for communication and promotion. Internally, we have also chosen to encourage telecommuting and carpooling so that each employee can reduce his or her personal environmental footprint.

As you may have noticed, our entire fleece collection this year is made from 80% recycled polyester ! We're taking a big step towards ever more responsible production, and we're taking it thanks to you. At Plaids Cocooning, we make it a point of honor to listen to you and your demands, and to offer you products that meet your requirements. One of our future goals is to offer you our entire collection of plaids in recycled materials: from faux furs to fleece plaids and accessories...
Polyester is a material that can be recycled ad infinitum, but it can also be upcycled. For years, our suppliers have been working towards their goal of zero waste: nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed! That's why the plaids we recover, which have defects or are not usable, are given a second life by being transformed into accessories: chokers, bonnets... If our range of accessories is constantly growing, it's because we're trying to reuse more and more plaid scraps.
Last but not least, we now offer all our customers the chance to return their old plaids in exchange for a promotional code, enabling them to buy the next model that will accompany them for years to come. Our models are made to last, so it's not uncommon for customers to keep their old model for 10 years, before buying the one that will accompany them for the next 10...
