For 10 years, we've specialized in soft, warm fleece throws for those long winter evenings. We wanted a committed summer collection, to infuse plaid with lightness so that it would also become an ally for our shared warm-weather moments. It's at these moments that plaid turns away from its role as an auxiliary blanket to become an essential companion. fouta, picnic tablecloths, tablecloths, bed throws, sofa throws and other fabric derivatives in fine weather.

A COLLECTION OF LIGHT FOUTAS
We've designed a collection that breathes, and there's nothing better for that than the use of natural fibers like linen and cotton. cotton and linen. In addition to offering you a cocooning universe in every season, at Plaids Cocooning we make it a point of honor to give a human and supportive dimension to our business.
We believe that change lies in each of us and in each of our daily attentions. Whether in management, choice of materials or manufacturing processes.
That's why it was important for us to work with a responsible and committed production company.
ETERNAL INDIA CHOSEN AS PRODUCER COUNTRY
Why choose to produce our linen and cotton foutas so far away, when we could do it closer to home? Because India is the world's second-largest cotton-producing country. Its hot, humid climate - more specifically, the monsoon - is ideal for growing cotton. The latter requires temperatures above 15° and lots of water for most of its cycle.
Indeed, working with India also means looking to the world, taking an interest in others and investing in the more human and social causes that are helping Indian society to develop.
That's why, for our collection of cotton and linen foutas, we chose to work with a producer committed to improving women's living conditions. He has founded an NGO dedicated to protecting young women and their environment. It's a notion also known as "empowerment".
Nanhi Yaara Development Society is dedicated to combating female foeticide (India has one of the world's highest rates) and to helping women take their place in society, guiding them to build their own path to success and respect.
CREATING A SIMPLE, TIMELESS FOUTA COLLECTION
We met our supplier by chance, although of course there's no such thing as chance and there are only appointments. So, one thing led to another, and we set off to meet him with Natou, my mom who accompanies me in my fabric selections. She's the upholstery seamstress's daughter, and it was Natou who taught me how to tell the weight of a fabric just by stroking it, and who awakened me to the different types of knitwear.
And because happy coincidences never happen alone, we were invited to a friend's wedding in Bombay at the same time. Combining business with pleasure, one of my passions.
After a few days in Bombay - and yes, weddings in India are celebrated for days on end - we headed off to northern India to meet our producer. We had already worked out what we wanted to develop in our collection: simple products in natural materials with beautiful finishes and colors that remind us of the northern beaches we love so much.
For our collection of linen foutas washed linen fabrics, both plaid and tablecloth. Fabrics in linen gauze, like a gentle breeze on the skin, which can also be used as curtains. Cotton models, perfect for replacing beach foutas. Others in cotton velvet and linen, a real alternative to fleece plaid. And a bi-material cotton and linen bedspread in the colors of the dunes. A simple, authentic summer collection.
