OUR MADE IN FRANCE COLLECTION

At Plaids Cocooning, our commitment to transparency is in line with our core values. Our commitments to you, to the French economy and to the environment are our top priorities.

So, in a society that pushes us to consume more and more, we have decided to limit our stocks. We offer quality products in limited quantities to meet a need, not create it. A decision that goes against the grain in a system where profits and environmental costs have become the watchwords.

In line with this vision, it was only logical to offer you a collection of made-in-France plaids to highlight the jewels of our industry.

Wool, beyond its incredible qualities, is the symbol of our commitment to offering you the very best. We'll let you discover our made-in-France plaids for yourself.

THE WOOL COLLECTION - FROM THE PYRENEES TO YOUR SOFA

We've chosen to develop a range of French-made plaids to offer you a more responsible consumer choice.

Indeed, changes in the world and in the way we consume have led us to rethink our production. And how we can contribute to sustainable development.

So, to combine this committed act of French manufacturing with local action, we made a choice. We chose to work with wool from the Pyrenees.

Indeed, Corentin, the co-founder, lives in this region of France. That's why it seemed natural to orient our actions in this direction. Our aim is to contribute to more global projects. All this, by supporting the artisans of our regions.

AN ANCESTRAL TRADITION

  • In the past, woollen plaids were handed down from generation to generation, the sign of a precious fabric. What's more, as wool is a naturally warm material, it also bears witness to the bond between man and animal. Beyond the traditional product, we favor a dynamic of responsible consumption and solidarity. We also promote the preservation of purebred livestock. What's more, we support the local economy.

  • Wool is a fascinating living material, renowned for its strength and warmth. It is said to breathe: it has the ability to retain air and water vapor in its fibers and then expel them. It's thanks to this mechanism that wool regulates heat, keeping you in a soft, temperate cocoon. By absorbing up to a third of its weight in moisture without feeling clammy, as well as air, wool forms a veritable protective barrier against the elements.

Since the dawn of time, people have used wool to protect themselves and create a comfortable nest. Wool fibers don't generate static electricity, so they don't trap dust. Thanks to its hypoallergenic properties (do not cause respiratory or dermatological allergies).).

Handcrafted

  • Wool harvesting

  • Wool washing

  • Wool spinning

Our wool comes from a farm south of Pau. Once or twice a year, the sheep are shorn for their comfort and well-being. The kilos of wool collected are then transported to the Haute-Loire region.

We send our wool to the last wool washing center in France. An ancient continuous washing system enables us to wash and dry the wool in a single day, in water heated to 70°C and using biodegradable soap.

Last but not least, our plaids are made in a workshop in the Tarn region of France, so that we can offer you quality products made in France.
